. . . because true equality demands gender-neutral policy.
In The News
Since its inception, the National Student Genderblind Campaign has worked to spark dialogue about gender neutral policy. Although we are operate as an unfunded, all-volunteer campaign, we view newspaper, television, and radio coverage as an essential catalyst for building a nationwide movement. Why? Because campus rooming policy isn’t an issue that people often think about. The very everydayness and familiarity of the status quo — in which men live with men, and women with women — render alternative possibilities invisible. Our primary goal, then, is to call attention to the fact that current policies are not only unnecessarily restrictive, but that they are also unjustly based on outdated assumptions about gender and sexuality. Here, we highlight a number of articles, TV spots, and radio interviews that have come about as a result of this grassroots initiative.
